Our class schedule rules the classroom. Unless at that place is an associates, field trip, or something else going on, our course schedule never changes. Student individual schedules may change, but our class schedule is our constant.

How do I choose the books for my students?
During student teaching, one of my mentor teachers taught me the most valuable lesson… start planning with your lowest level group. Then add more than to those lesson plans for your higher level groups.

I have no set manner to cull books, and I don't proceed rails on a spreadsheet (1. too much paper, ii. I think in my mind). BUT if there is a holiday for the week I am planning, a special occasion, or any of that, I employ that theme.

How long does information technology take you to prep all of this stuff?
I know, prep time. I can read your mind 😉
Typically it volition have me i planning period (45 minutes) to determine what books nosotros are reading next calendar week and get all of the materials printed off of RAZ. During this one planning menstruum, I'm as well choosing additional adapted books and/or adapted slice book sets, printing off sight word books and getting the judgement builders printed likewise.
During the side by side planning period, I will laminate and get everything hooked and loop (i.e., velcro-ed). That is, if I don't take a para free to laminate for me during the week sometime.
I like to print everything at in one case, laminate everything at once, and velcro everything at once. This is a organisation that works for me and my paras. Again, you do what works best for your classroom.

In plastic bins from Walmart or Target. Zero special and no fancy labeling system either.
